Charles: Journal Club

Charles Stamitoles, member of the Quality Assurance Team of the RIPL_Effect research team, and aspiring dentist, delivered a presentation on to air pollution and respiratory health: aerosols and bioaerosols in a dental office. The article Charles presented was published by Polednik, B. in 2014 in the journal Environmental Research (click here to access the article). Among the author’s findings were that grinding was the technique that generated the highest concentrations of aerosols, metallic traces and carbon concentrations increased during dental procedures, as well as airborne bacterial contamination.
