The RIPLRT Institute congratulates Master’s Research Fellow Rebecca Mesidort, M.S., on her appointment as an Adjunct Professor at Lynn University.

Rebecca earned her M.S. in Biological Sciences at Lynn and her B.S. in Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University, where she trained in the FAU CRISPR Laboratory in gene editing, in vitro fertilization, and molecular assays. At Lynn, she served as a Graduate Assistant and as a Lab Assistant in Dr. Félix E. Rivera-Mariani’s Educational Biomarker Discovery Lab, as well as the biological expert in the Drumming Project, the Institute’s drumming-intervention study. She helped develop and run laboratory protocols, design research projects, and lead discussions and supplemental instruction sessions for students. She has also worked as a Clinical Research Associate, supporting patient enrollment, regulatory documentation, and protocol development for clinical trials.

Her new role brings that experience back to the classroom at the university where she trained. Mentees who go on to teach are among the most meaningful outcomes of the Institute’s mentoring model. Rebecca continues as a Master’s Research Fellow with the Institute, and she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Genetics, with long-term interests in gene therapy and translational science.

Congratulations, Rebecca!
